To escape the galaxy you need around 500000 energy, to help you decide whether to stay in a sector or move!

This is a prototype, and in future versions you will use the energy you extract in more sophisticated ways:
building and researching different types of engines;
supporting your civilisation through relativistic time;
capturing black holes and triggering supernovae;
and, of course, you will be able to add stars to your fleet rather than just their energy.
For now, I hope this gives you a sense of just how large the universe really is...
